I'm not familiar with the story the JW's have, but Jesus being in heaven is a Biblical teaching for all Christians, but not under the name "Jesus."
Christianity teaches of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. God the Trinity has been from the beginning and to the end, eternity. When Satan rebelled in heaven, the God-head made a plan to save fallen man, and that plan required that the Son be born on earth as a man and prove that man could indeed keep the law of God, which Lucifer said was impossible to keep. In heaven, Jesus was known as Michael and fought Lucifer (Satan) and expelled him and the fallen angels from heaven.
Revelation 12:7 talks about the battle in heaven when Satan, as Lucifer, rebelled.
"And there was war in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back."
Matthew 1:23 says:
"The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel" —which means, "God with us."
We know God has been from the beginning and Jesus was the manifestation of God on earth, God with us. So yes, He was in heaven before he was born on earth.
In Matthew 2:14-15 it says:
"When he arose, he took the young Child and His mother by night and departed for Egypt, and was there until the death of Herod, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying, “Out of Egypt I called My Son.”"
So you see, God called His Son out of Egypt in the prophesy. God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit - the Trinity. God didn't create his son at the birth of Jesus. It was a plan laid from the foundations of the earth to save man from sin caused by the fall of Lucifer.
I'm sorry, I wish I had time to show you more verses. But yes, this concept is a Biblical teaching. But again, I don't know what story the JW's have in their book, and sometimes their stories can be farfetched and have a little truth mixed in, which can be confusing to the real truth. So be careful and for best results, just read the Bible and never read something that you fear might be in error. You don't need to clutter your mind with error.
God bless you in your studies,
Nannette

I recieved a book from a Jehovahs witness to share with my son and I'm previewing it first but my concern is that I never heard of Jesus living in heaven with God before he was born to Mary. This book tells of a story like this. I will be looking for this in the Bible but I just thought I'd see if anyone has anything to say about this.
Thanks April
