Mary called and told me that after all these years of driving that Geo it finally needs some major work done on it. I pray that she will be able to get the money through her Credit Union again. When she got the car she had a job, and now she is on disability. Please pray that she can do this as she is afraid to drive it out of Littleton now. I guess that it was longer ago than I thought as the care is 10 years old either that or she has had it ten years. Time flies by so fast when you get old. or is it er.
Have a great day in the Lord, and Keep looking UP and some day soon He will COME.

Nannette, blee here, and your advice is great, my oldest step-daughter Mary got her last car through the credit bureau. And she was willing to go $10,000 on a car, she wanted a GEO and that is just what they found and with taxes it came to 10,036. and so they paid the 36 themselves. Her old Toyota that she had had for so many years and miles, was using more oil than gas, so it was a blessing to her. The GEO has a toyota motor. She came up to see me with a girlfriend from Littleton and had filled the car, before she came and then her friend stayed here while my friend LaDonna and my Mary and I all went in her car. We drove miles and it was still on full. That is certainly what she needed as she drives back and forth to G.J. a lot to see family over there.

I just wrote a message in regard to God blessing us with a used car (well, Wednesday we'll find out for certain!)

I wanted to share about my dearly, beloved van I am having to give up.

In 1994, our car broke down and we needed another one. We wanted a van for our family, but looking all over town, they were around $17,000 and up and didn't even have any extra features! We simply could not afford that much. So we prayed about it.

We received a newsletter in the mail from our credit union that we could get cars through them. So we got on the phone with them and told them we wanted a van. They pulled up their listings and said they had a 1990 van in Oklahoma City (we lived in Wichita, Kansas) and we could drive down to look at it. It would be $11,000. We didn't know any details about it other than that it was a van and cost $11,000 - much less than the local used models!

So we drove down to Oklahoma City and pulled into the dealerships. In the front, away from all the other cars, was a beautiful, shiny, candy-apple red, Ford Aerostar van. I pointed at it and said, "Wouldn't that be wonderful if THAT was our van!" Larry, said, "Yes, but there's no way," because we had been everywhere and hadn't seen anything like it for $17,000, let alone $11,000.

We went into the dealership and the salesman took us out and introduced us to what became our new van! We opened the door and it had beautiful velour seats, and was an Eddie Bauer van, meaning it was fully loaded with a trip meter, tachometer, stereo system, etc., etc., etc.! It was an unbelievable blessing and we've had it all these years with very little problems through the years! I still love it, but as said in my previous mail, the time has come for us to move on to something more dependable. We never take family trips for fear the van might break down on the road. It has been 11 years since our last family vacation.

But God blessed that day and I'll never forget it!

Some car buying advice. Check your credit union for car deals. If you belong to Costco, you can get great deals through their dealerships. We visited with a wonderful Ford salesman and the prices were great, but just not the cars we wanted. And I do mean new and used. Costco also can get you great loans through Capital One at very low interest rates. Other membership type stores would likely have the same thing going.

If you look on the internet for something, expand your search to more than 100 miles. It's often times worth the drive, as we have proven from in 1994 and again in 2004.

And when searching for a mate on ChristianSinglesDating.com, don't be shy about expanding your search to well beyond the city, state, or region you think you need. You just might receive God's blessing outside of your desired radius too!

God bless,

Nannette

When our 92 Taurus broke down, it was in our garage. Larry had just returned from Iowa, where he had spent two days visiting his dying cousin in the hospital. His car could have broken down while he was traveling, but God spared us from that.

We had to have the car towed to the mechanic, and it was a broken fuel pump. Larry has decided to keep his car, but still wants me to get a newer car.

Mine is a 90' van, and I love it. I hate to see it go. But he insists it is no longer safe as the undercarriage is bent and constantly wears the tires. It also has no airbags and we have a teenage daughter now driving. He is concerned for both our safety. Plus, the air conditioning doesn't work and only one window rolls down. Been a hot summer! I'd pay to get it fixed, but he won't put another cent into it.

Meanwhile, we've been all over town looking at cars at dealerships. We met with one really nice salesman, but he just didn't have anything we wanted. Some others just seemed sleezy. I had told one how we were looking at two cars, but my husband decided to keep his and just get it fixed. His floor manager said he could order me a used car like I wanted, shook my hand and walked away. But then the salesman said, "If you come back with your husband on Friday and test drive and buy this car (one I had been looking at, but wasn't even my color!), I'll order you the other car." I didn't go back on Friday.

Instead, I drove 110 miles away to a place I found on the internet with a used car which had all the options Larry and I wanted. Since my car is the family car, I have to replace it with a family car, so it was important it have just the right seats and gizmos and be the right color. Well, it wasn't either of the two colors I liked, but I thought maybe I'd like it when I got there in person.

So Larry and I drove 110 miles, and saw the car out front. Immediately Larry said he didn't care for the color, but we'd go home with it anyway as long as it had all the options we needed. The salesman came out and apologized that when he pulled it up front, he realized it didn't have the options we wanted. He said he tried to call us to stop us from taking the trip, but couldn't reach us. (I had meant to leave him our cell phone, but forgot, and I'm glad I did!)

And since we had traveled so far, they were going to try to order us a used car like the one we wanted at a very good price, in a color we wanted. I thought, "Great! Lemonade!"

So Wednesday, I'll be trading in my dearly, beloved candy-apple red van, for another newer model used car with airbags and enough room for a family of five! I double-checked the price we ended up with compared to what other dealerships were selling this car for. I couldn't find one single car in our price range or even a thousand more that offered everything we are getting! And color? Candy-Apple Red! (Okay, they call it Inferno Red!)

God does bless!

Nannette
