9Bob9 (Bob) and Chiiron (Esther aka E.P.) married on Nov. 13, 2004. We first met on SSS over 4 years ago. Early on we discovered that my mom and her siblings had known Bob's siblings decades ago in academy. I even attended that academy with his nephew; years later I became acquainted with his sister and brother-in-law as they ministered in Texico Conference. Those initial similarities were only a preview of the values, interests, goals, life experiences and multitudes of small things that we shared.
Scripture teaches that a man’s role is to Pursue, Protect, Provide and be the Priest of the home. The 1st ‘P’ was never in question. He openly, consistently expressed his interest and willingness to commit. In my profile I put that I am quixotic by nature, cynical by experience – Bob discovered that to be true, but didn’t let it waylay him. Fortunately, Bob had a 5th ”P” – Persistence. That kept ‘us’ alive while the other 3 Ps were revealing themselves and my walls were disintegrating. Busy-ness and distance, not conflict or red-flags, contributed to the length and intermittent nature of our courtship.
Bob proved he wanted to Protect and Provide by being concerned about my welfare, and that of my children, and showing it in tangible ways. He worked on my car and around the house when he visited, took me out to nice places when I was too broke and too tired (working 3 jobs, going to college full-time) to do anything fun, By driving my son to college, being supportive to my daughter he showed his concern for them too.
His love of Jesus, and our church, coupled with his burden for souls and desire for personal spiritual growth showed his spiritual commitment. Bob and I now have times of devotion morning and evening, and enjoy uplifting videos on a regular basis.
Then there is the requisite chemistry and sense of humor – both essential and yet often elusive. Oh Yeah, we got that too!! I am still amazed and delighted that God brought me a man who makes me laugh, encourages me to develop my talents and interests, is honest and communicative, has strong family ties & high quality friends, is active and intelligent – i.e. -- perfect for me.
We got engaged in September on a motorcycle trip to a big bike rally in Nevada. That theme got carried over to our wedding – we had a Harley in the reception hall. Each guest was photographed on or beside the Harley; this has been a great way for him to connect names to faces as I talk about friends and family; it also gave me a great memory book to carry to my new life in California. I am working with Bob, helping him expand his (make that our) business; another little serendipity – it is the same type of business that I was working in in Albuquerque! We love accept each other, and make accommodations for the scars, quirks and preferences that we bring with us.
Leaving my life of 26 years, children, granddaughters and friends in Albuquerque has been possible only because of the knowledge that Bob and I will be happily married “until death parts us or our Lord shall return.”
We thank God for this site, and for the commitment of Nanette and Larry for the happiness that we now share. (^_^)
DON”T GIVE UP – IT CAN HAPPEN FOR YOU TOO! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

I could write a chapter on getting a wedding and a cross-country move planned and executed in 6 weeks! It would take another one to describe the fun of the wedding and reception – and how a reception hall can be decorated by a horde of volunteer guests in an hour!
