I completely agree with you on the Facebook and Myspace opinion, those are people not searching for practical/true mates.
But your other opinion, that someone is "hiding" someone if they will not join a discussion on an open forum meaning they're hiding something I have to disagree with. There are many good people who are not hiding anything, but who are simply shy and have the preferance of a private chat to share their opinions and such.

I think it's nice when a man finds me interesting and begins talking to me. About feminism, I don't want to kill snakes or open doors, if a man is nearby and offers his assistance. If no man is around, I'll scream and find a 2 by 4 heavy brick and kill that snake just as dead. Feminine to me means deferring to the one who has the most experience. Men like to be admired and appreciated. I like to be loved and my opinion respected.
